Verle G. Kaiser was born in 1911. In 1922 his family traveled west from North Dakota and settled on a dairy farm near Cheney, Washington. After graduating from high school, Mr. Kaiser attended Cheney State Normal School and the Washington State College at Pullman. In 1933 he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture, and in 1934 completed an engineering degree. Before and after his engineering studies he worked for the Soil Erosion Service.
